kind of in the same vein as degas...with a little bit of van gogh style maybe?? great job!! Love the colors too!!

It's a good attempt. I'll admit, not my fav simply because yes it's impressionism but impressionistic of what? Is she tired? The way the dancer is posed it would appear she was out of breath though the warm colors would lead me to believe she was either angered or midstep in a dance- but then posing comes into play. Hence my confusion in this piece.

Don't get me wrong- it's a nice attempt and you did well. I would just like to see you attempt a little more. Think out colors, positioning and really try to convey your message a little better. That's why I love impressionism and why I think I myself have been compared to Van Gogh- each of their painting conveyed(sp) a certain message or feeling. It's not all cut and dry like most art and sometimes you won't get the meaning at first but in the end you're left feeling exact what the artist told you to by looking at their work.

interpretation is still only interpretation, thats the wonder of analyzing art, because only the artist really knows what he/she was feeling and or wanting to portray through the piece, people can guess all they like, but it could be in actual fact the piece meant something completely different.... also the feeling i was trying to get was the feeling before getting on stage..the warmth one feels when doing something you love to do and the anticipation and adrenaline be4 hand, and to calm one self during such heightened emotions...lol
